• as governor of Alaska she has a unique credibility to speak on oil issues
• successfully finessed a pipeline project that may cut our natural gas imports almost in half within 10 years
• has a child with Downs and thus a unique perspective on sanctity-of-life-besides-abortion issues (not that she needs the so-called “moral authority,” but it sure helps politically)
• has a record of fighting corruption and unethical activity, even in her own party
