Last fall, Obama repeatedly said: ”We are in the middle of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.” And without his stimulus plan, he argued earlier this year, “our nation [would] sink into a crisis that at some point we may be unable to reverse.” “[T]he situation we face,” he said, “could not be more serious.”
Apparently, this was too optimistic.
