So here’s a question.  I do some amateur photography, as you may have noticed.  I am trying to find a good, free photo editor.  I use Picasa all the time, but I would like to find something a little more full featured.  I have tried GIMP, but even with my (admittedly minor) familiarity with Photoshop, I just can’t get it to do the things I want it to do.

Any suggestions?

Picasa works well for very simplistic edits and general photo management. GIMP is indeed similar to Photoshop—as is Paint.Net, another freebie. Then there are tons of free photo-editing sites online. I suppose a clarifying question is: what exactly are you looking to do?
